This study found evidence for bias in disability labeling for students in the Special Education Elementary Longitudinal Study aged 6 to 13 with learning disability, speech impairment, intellectual disability, autism, and emotional disorder depending on race/ethnicity, household income relative to poverty, parents’ level of education, and language spoken at home.
